Application of colloidal silica in precision casting

Silica sol is a dispersion with good adhesion and high stability, and it is widely used in the precision casting industry as the main binder. The process flow of silica sol precision casting is mainly composed of the following parts.

1. Make a silica sol mold according to the shape of the parts, and then use the mold to create the same wax shape as the parts;

2. Put the wax type into the special slurry, solidify, and basically form after many times;

3. Put the model into hot water for dewaxing;

4. Casting molding.

Compared with other processes of precision casting, the silica sol process is suitable for the production of small castings, and the surface of the castings produced is smoother, the size is precise, and no secondary processing is required.
