Steel castings are now one of our commonly used castings, steel castings are widely used, and the shadow of steel castings can be seen in many fields. So, do you know what types of steel castings can be divided into? Next, the editor will take a look with you.
According to the chemical composition, steel castings can be divided into two categories: carbon steel castings and alloy steel castings.
1. Carbon cast steel. Generally, mild steel has a high melting point and poor casting performance, and is only used to manufacture motor parts or carburizing parts; Medium carbon steel has good comprehensive properties, such as high strength, excellent plasticity and toughness, so it is suitable for manufacturing castings with high strength and toughness requirements, and is the most widely used type of carbon casting steel; High carbon steel has a low melting point, and its casting performance is better than that of medium carbon steel, but its plasticity and toughness are poor, and it is only used to make a few wear-resistant parts.
2. Alloy cast steel. According to the total amount of alloying elements, alloy cast steel can be divided into two types: low-alloy steel and high-alloy steel. Low-alloy cast steel is commonly used to manufacture gears, hydraulic press working cylinders and other parts, and high-alloy cast steel has special properties such as wear resistance, heat resistance or corrosion resistance, and is mainly used to manufacture parts on equipment such as chemicals, petroleum, chemical fibers and food.
